THE PURPOSE

많은 업다운이 있는 도로와 긴 오르막과 내리막에 이상적인 상당히 빠른 휠셋이면서도 전천후 aero performance 휠셋이기도 하다. 27mm rim width은 보다 열린 tire profile을 만들어 상당한 그립력과 낮은 구름저항 그리고 뛰어난 공기역학 성능을 발휘해준다. 현재 the Canyon dhb p/b Bloor Homes UCI Continental pro team에서 사용 중인 휠셋이다. Clincher Tire보다 가벼운 무게를 가진 Tubeless Tire 장착을 권장하며 Tubeless Tire는 구름저항에서도 Clincher Tire보다 우수하며 (Schwalbe Pro One 25mm VS. Continental GP4000Sll by 9.5% according to Schwalbe's own tests) 36mm rim height는 공기역학에 유리하며 U-profile 27mm wide rims은 탁월한 핸들링과 다양한 각도의 측풍으로 인한 drag효과를 줄이는데 효과적이다. 

FEATURES

RIMS - 27mm 광폭의 강하고 가벼운 카본림으로 aero-rounded profile로 탁월한 핸들링과 스피드를 발휘한다. 더욱 강한 마찰력을 지닌 Griptec brake-track은 훌륭한 브레이크 성능을 긴 시간의 내리막이나 비오는 날에도 제공한다. 27mm (19mm internal)의 광폭은 최상의 타이어 형상을 만들어 탁월한 그립감과 낮은 구름저항성을 지니게 해준다. 

RIM SURFACE - High TG resin은 극강의 신뢰성있는 브레이킹 성능과 긴 시간의 내리막에서 내구성을 발휘한다. 200C의 고온까지 실험실 테스트를 통해 모든 림들을 한계치까지 점검한다. 고온 resin이 사용된 Griptec Braking surfaces와 rims은 브레이킹으로 인한 극렬한 고운에서도 성능을 발휘하도록 설계되었다. 알프스 산맥의 길고 가파르며 빠른 내리막에서 rim-braking wheels의 성능을 실제로 확인하였다. 

BEARINGS - high-grade precision sealed cartridge bearings by Japanese experts EZO이 사용되었으며 low-friction seals을 또한 적용하여 구름 저항을 더욱 줄였다. 

HUBS - 정밀하게 머신 가공된 straight pull hubs와 spokes는 강성과 파워 전달력을 증가시켜 페달링 파워가 온전하게 직진력으로 발휘되게 해준다. 대구경 15mm diameter hub axles을 적용하여 많은 힘이 가해지는 스프린트와 오르막 반응성을 키워준다. Circular dropout interface steps은 휠과 프레임간의 추가적인 견고한 결착력을 증가시켜준다. 

RIM BED - H-Lock이라는 독자적인 tubeless-ready rim bed profile이 적용되어 튜브리스 타이어의 처음 장착에도 손쉽고 완벽한 밀착을 돕는다. 또한 H-Lock profile은 한번 타이어 비드가 장착되면 보다 확실하게 안착되도록 해준다. 이러한 특성은 오프로드에서 낮은 공기압으로 달릴 때 더욱 중요한 장점이다.

FREEHUB BODY - 3개의 pawls은 각각 3 teeth를 가지고 있으며 48 tooth ratchet ring과 인상적으로 낮은 7.5도 체결 각도와 무거운 무게에도 쉽게 마모되지 않는 특성을 지닌다. 이 Sprint freehub는 강한 독자적인 pawl spring을 가지고 있어 보다 빠른 체결이 가능하게 해준다. Steel Spline Insert가 삽입되어 있어 cassette sprocket damage로부터 더욱 탁월한 내구성을 가진다. 

SPOKES - 이 휠에 사용된 최고급 라인인 Pillar Spoke Re-enforcement PSR XTRA model은 butted blade aero spokes를 사용하여 보다 가볍고 스포크 텐션을 보다 오래 유지할 수 있고 피로도에 대한 저항성도 강화할 수 있도록 더 높은 탄성을 가지고 있다. PSR spokes는 스트레스 강도가 높은 헤드 부분을 강화하여 2.2mm 두께로 만들어져있고 nipples은 14mm 합금의 6각 헤드로 정밀한 텐션 조정이 가능하다. 

SKEWERS - 작은 부분까지도 세심한 심려를 기울여 HUNT Race Season quick-release skewers는 자체적으로 윤활 기능이 있는 황동(brass) 소재의 cam을 적용하였고 stainless steel springs을 업그레이드하여 녹이 방지되도록 하였다. 

TIRES - HUNT는 튜브리스 타이어의 펑크 방지 성능과 탁월한 그립감을 모든 고객들이 누리도록 하기 위해서 모든 휠셋을 tubeless-ready로 제조한다. Hunt tubeless-ready wheels은 일반 클린처 타이어와 튜브 장착도 또한 가능하다.

SPECS OVERVIEW

Rims | Toray T700/T800 carbon-fibre를 소재로 unidirectional sidewalls에 3K weave bed와 spoke areas를 강화하였고 Griptec brake-track은 3K로 강화하여 탁월한 제동력과 내구성을 지닌다. 

Hubs | Race Season SPRINT straight-pull spokes와 15mm diameter 7075-T6 axle, 그리고 추가적인 프레임과 휠셋의 결착력을 증대하기 위해 circular dropout interface steps이 적용되었다. 즉각적인 가속이 가능한 3개의 treble-tooth pawl이 적용되어 7.5도로 낮은 체결 각도를 가진다. Steel spline insert가 적용되어 cassette sprocket damage로부터 cassette body를 보호해준다.

Spokes I Sandvik Sweden사의 고품질 T302 (18/10) stainless steel wire 사용

QR | Hunt Race Season super-light cro-moly spindles (1000kgf tested high-strength)과 열처리된 합금 brass cam 그리고 녹슬지 않는 stainless steel springs이 적용되었다.

THE PURPOSE

These are seriously fast wheels for seriously undulating terrain, ideal for long climbs and descents but with great all-round aero performance for rolling terrain too. The 27mm rim width opens out your tire profile providing incredible grip, low rolling resistance and superior aerodynamic performance. As used by the Canyon dhb p/b Bloor Homes UCI Continental pro team.  We all want to go fast; that was the brief. The latest breed of tubeless tires give up nothing in weight to their clincher counterparts and the Schwalbe Pro One, that you can have fitted by us prior to delivery, weighs only 250g for a 25mm tire (290 grams including 40 ml of sealant, while the Continental GP4000SII tire with tubes weighs 320 grams). The tire rolling resistance of the new Schwalbe Pro One Tubeless is reduced by 9.5% over their clincher version according to Schwalbe's own tests! Hence tubeless was essential. Going deep is obvious for aero gains, wide rims with a U-profile provide great handling and reduce drag across multiple wind yaw-angles. The freehub body on the HUNT Sprint hub features 48 teeth on the ratchet ring, and treble-tooth pawls, providing incredible 7.5° engagement. Perfect for when the hammer goes down and you need an instant response. The strong individual leaf-sprung pawls are louder than circular spring set-ups, but we think that is the right decision to make for this type of wheelset. Also, stiffness = speed... so we specced large 15mm diameter hub axles for sprinting and out-of-saddle climbing. Ease into them, your mates won’t know it’s the wheels!. Float up the climbs too, thanks to a sub 1500g bench-mark weight, is this even fair?

FEATURES

RIMS - A strong and seriously wide yet lightweight carbon rim, with an aero-rounded profile for excellent handling and speed. The extra friction Griptec brake-track provides excellent braking, on even the longest descents and in the wet. The rim dimensions are wide at 27mm (19mm internal) which creates a great tyre profile, resulting in excellent grip and lower rolling resistance.

RIM SURFACE - High TG resin provides extremely reliable braking and durability for longer descents. We lab test all our rims to very high braking temp (200 C) to push their limits. The high temp resins used for our Griptec Braking surfaces and rims are designed and perform to extremely high levels of braking heat build-up. We also ride test our rim brake wheels in the Alps to ensure the wheels are put through their paces on long, steep and fast descents.

FREEHUB BODY - Featuring a 3 multi-point pawls with 3 teeth each and a 48 tooth ratchet ring results in an impressively low 7.5 degree engagement angle and excellent resistance to wear under heavy loads. The Sprint freehub has strong individual pawl springs which engage quicker. There is also a Steel Spline Insert re-enforcement to provide excellent durability against cassette sprocket damage often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies.

BEARINGS - The heart of any wheel. Investing in them makes huge sense. We use high-grade precision sealed cartridge bearings by Japanese experts EZO, and this wheelset even has low-friction seals to further reduce rolling resistance.

HUBS - Precision machined straight pull hubs and spokes add strength and enhance power transfer meaning all your force pushes you forwards. Large 15mm diameter hub axles for sprinting and out-of-saddle climbing responsiveness. Circular dropout interface steps add extra stiffness.

RIM BED - H-Lock is our tubeless-ready rim bed profile with up-kicks to the shoulders of the tubeless steps which help to create a great rim-well seal for first installation and easy sealing of tubeless tires. The H-Lock profile also locks the beads in place more securely once seated. This is especially important when running lower pressures or riding off-road.

SPOKES - We chose the top-of-the-range Pillar Spoke Re-enforcement PSR XTRA models. These butted blade aero spokes are lighter and provide a greater degree of elasticity to maintain tensions longer and add fatigue resistance. PSR spokes feature the 2.2 width at the head providing more material in this high stress area. Nipples are 14mm alloy, anodized and come with a hex head so you can achieve precise tensioning. Combining components well is key which is why all Hunt wheels are hand-built.

TIRES - At HUNT, we enjoy the puncture resistance and grip benefits of tubeless on our every-day rides so we wanted to allow our customers the same option. Of course, all of our tubeless-ready wheels are designed to work perfectly with clincher tires and inner tubes too.

SKEWERS - The little details matter, the HUNT Race Season quick-release skewers use brass for the cam, which has self lubricating properties. We have also upgraded to stainless steel springs in order to prevent rusting.

QR | Hunt Race Season super-light with heat-treated alloy/brass cam plate actuation and stainless steel springs.
