THE PURPOSE

Time trials과 triathlons에서 디스크 브레이크 바이크가 더욱 우승을 차지하면서 헌트에서도 최고 속도를 제공하는 에어로 휠셋 패키지로 Hunt 65 Carbon Aero Disc & TT Tubeless Disc set을 선보이게 되었다. 헌트의 TT Tubeless Disc wheel가 발매되면서 가장 많은 질문중 하나는 어떤 프론트 휠과 세트로 판매할 것인가였다. 그 답은 65 Carbon Aero Disc였다. Hunt Limitless research project에서 얻은 원리들을 (U-Shape의 림 형상이 성능과 다양한 측풍에서 안정성을 향상시킨다) Hunt의 ‘Aerodynamicist’ rims에 적용하여 긍극의 공기역학 성능을 휠셋을 얻어낸 결과이다. TT Tubeless Rear Disc 휠은 이 휠셋을 완성하기 위해서 경량의 튜브리스 레디와 우수한 공기역학 성능을 자랑하는 독특한 디자인으로 개발되었다. 낮은 밀도의 폴리머와 샌드위치 I-beam 구조를 가진 카본 외판을 사용한 TT Disc wheel은 최적의 무게 대비 강성과 파워 전달력을 최대한으로 끌어올린 모델이다. 23~28mm 타이어와 가장 공기역학적으로 잘 맷칭되며 튜브리스 타이어를 사용할 경우 더 낮은 구름저항과 그립력 그리고 클린처 타이어대비 더 나은 노면 수용성을 보인다. 10도의 인상적인 라쳇 체결각도로 출발 지점에서 빠른 가속이 가능하다. 

FEATURES

TT DISC RIM I 속도를 위해 개발된 TT Disc wheel은 디스크 브레이크 전용 rim profile로 림 브레이크와 같이 브레이킹 표면을 강화할 필요가 없어 무게 대비 더 높은 강성을 지닌다. 19mm 내부 림폭으로 25~28mm 튜브리스 타이어와 최상의 공기역학 성능을 발휘하며 23mm와 클린처 타이어와도 사용이 가능하다. 

RIM BED I 헌트의 튜브리스 레디 림베드 형상인 H-Lock은 첫 장착부터 쉽고 확실한 밀착을 도와주며 한번 장착되면 보다 확실하게 비드가 체결되도록 도와준다. 이러한 특징은 오프로드는 낮은 공기압에서 달릴 경우에 특히 중요하다. 

FRONT RIM I 단방향 T24/30 카본과 스포크 홀 주변 강화를 위한 3K 카본으로 강하면서도 매우 가벼운 림으로 넓은 에어로 형상은 탁월한 핸들링과 속도를 제공한다. 디스크 브레이크 전용 구조로 많은 무게 감량이 이루어졌으며 림 브레이크와 같이 브레이킹 표면 강화의 필요가 없어 보다 강하고 가벼운 림 제작이 가능하여 타이어와 스포크를 지지하는 본연의 역할에 충실한 디자인을 가진 카본 림이다. 

SPOKES I 최고급 Pillar Spoke Re-enforcement PSR XTRA model을 적용. Pillar butted blade aero spoke는 보다 가벼우면서 텐션을 보다 오래 유지하고 피로 저항성을 가지는 더 높은 탄성을 지닌다. PSR spoke는 스트레스가 높은 스포크 헤드를 2.2mm 너비로 보다 많은 소재를 적용하였다. 니플의 경우 6각 헤드로 정밀한 조정이 가능하다. 이러한 부품을 조합하여 수작업으로 제작되었으며 각 빌더가 직접 작성한 품질 체크 카드가 제공된다.

FREEHUB BODY I 4개의 pawl과 36t ratchet ring으로 구성되어 모든 pawl들이 동시에 체결되며 상당히 낮은 10도의 체결각도를 가진다. Steel Spline이 삽입된 허브 바디는 카세트로부터 손상을 방지해준다.  

BEARINGS I 휠의 심장이라고 할 수 있는 베어링은 일본의 베어링 전문업체인 EZO 스틸 베어링으로 고정밀 고윤활의 쉴드 카트리지 베어링이다. 3개의 후륜 베어링은 내부면을 저마찰의 LU/LB seals로 적용하여 구름저항을 보다 낮추고 탁월한 외부면의 실링 성능을 유지하였다.

After we debuted our TT Tubeless Disc wheel the number one question we received back was; “Which front wheel should I pair this with?” If you’re looking for the bundle that is sure to set some PRs, look no further. 65 Carbon Aero Disc: Using the principles found during the Limitless research project (widening profiles below the edge of the rim to improve performance and stability across multiple yaw angles), and applying them to our ‘Aerodynamicist’ rims, these wheels provide the absolute best aerodynamics offered inside a conventional calliper brake. TT Tubeless Rear Disc: Rounding out this package we’ve produced a unique design concept that boasts superior aerodynamics in a lightweight tubeless-ready package. Utilizing low-density polymer and carbon fibre plating surrounding an internal I-beam structure, this TT Disc wheel provides the optimal stiffness-to-weight ratio, maximizing power transfer when every watt and second counts.These wheels are aerodynamically optimized for the 23-28mm tire of your choice and come tubeless-ready. As a result of running tubeless tyres, riders benefit from reduced rolling resistance, more grip when pushing the bike to the max, and better compliance compared to standard clincher tyres. FEATURES

TT DISC RIM I Full rear TT Disc wheel built for speed. The rim profile is disc specific which allows higher strength to weight as no reinforcement is required for a braking surface. 19mm internal, delivering superior aerodynamic performances with a 25-28c tubeless tire, but also very capable with a 23c. Also works excellently with clincher tires and tubes

RIM BED I H-Lock is our tubeless-ready rim bed profile with up-kicks to the shoulders of the tubeless steps which help to create a great rim-well seal for first installation and easy sealing of tubeless tires. The H-Lock profile also locks the beads in place more securely once seated. This is especially important when running lower pressures off road.

FRONT RIM I A strong and super-lightweight rim featuring unidirectional T24/30 carbon fibre with 3K weave re-enforced spoke holes. The wide aero profile delivers excellent handling and speed. The evolution of disc brake specific construction has allowed massive weight savings over equivalent rim-brake rims. The removal of braking forces on the rim allows a strong but very light rim to be designed that can focus on it's primary roles of supporting the tyre and spoke forces.

SPOKES I We chose the top-of-the-range Pillar Spoke Re-enforcement PSR XTRA models. These butted blade aero spokes are lighter but also provide a greater degree of elasticity to maintain tensions longer and add fatigue resistance. PSR spokes feature the 2.2 width at the spoke head providing more material in this high stress area. The nipples come with a hex head so you can achieve precise tensioning. Combining these components well is key which is why all Hunt wheels are hand-built.

FREEHUB BODY I Featuring 4 pawls and a 36t ratchet ring with all the pawls engaging at the same time. The result an impressively low 10 deg engagement angle. Durability is a theme for HUNT, and so all our freehub bodies have Steel Spline Insert re-enforcements to provide excellent durability against cassette sprocket damage often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies

BEARINGS I The heart of any wheel. Investing in them makes huge sense. We use high-grade precision smooth-rolling sealed cartridge bearings by Japanese experts EZO. This wheelset has three of the rear hub bearings upgraded to S&S low-friction LU/LB seals on the internal bearing face to further reduce rolling resistance whilst maintaining excellent sealing on the exposed faces.

• Bearings | High-grade Japanese EZO bearings. Rear hub upgraded to even faster rolling LU/LB low-friction sealed internal face, dual-sealed external face bearings.

• Max Rider Weight I 109kgs is the upper recommended rider weight limit for these wheels. Please include the weight of any luggage in your total rider weight when choosing the correct wheels. If a rider is over 90Kgs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly and it is advisable to use tires at max 90psi as this will reduce the fatigue on the wheelset.
