올라운드 라이더를 위해 개발된 Hunt 44_46 Aerodynamicist Carbon Disc Wheel은 진보된 에어로 림 형상으로 HUNT 자체 엔지니어 팀에 의해 개발된 모델로 선도적인 측풍 안정성을 실현하였다. 최적화된 전륜과 후륜 림 형상 적용으로 유사한 림높이 카테고리에서 무게대비 가장 뛰어난 공기역학성능을 보여주면서 무게는 1.346그램을 실현하였다. 

THE PURPPOSE

Hunt Aerodynamicist Range 휠셋 시리즈는 온전히 스피드를 위해서 재개발된 모델로 확장된 CFD 테스트와 풍동실험 테스트를 통해 자체적으로 개발된 신규 림 프로화일들을 얻어냈다. 매순간의 성능적 이점을 추구하는 라이더들을 위해서 보다 넓어진 전륜 림 형상과 보다 좁고 높은 후륜 림 형상으로 무게를 최소화하면서 실제 상황에서도 공기역학성능과 코너링 안정성을 확보하였다. Aero wing spokes는 바람을 잘 가르면서 동시에 탁월한 내구성과 수리 편의성을 제공하며 9도의 매우 빠른 체격각도를 가진 H_Ratchet 40T DBL hub에 수작업으로 체결된다. Enduro™ ABEC 5 chromium steel bearing을 적용하여 탁월한 내구성과 부드러운 구름성을 제공하면서 보다 빨리 보다 멀리 달리게 해준다. 모든 디테일이 세밀하게 튜닝되어 최상의 성능을 발휘하는 시리즈라고 할 수 있다.  

THE TECHNOLOGY

HUNT 44_46 Aerodynamicist Carbon Disc wheel은 풍동실험에서 167그램 더 무거운(12.4%) ENVE Foundation 45 휠셋보다 1.41 watts만큼 공기역학성능이 뛰어났다. 새로운 전륜 형상으로 높은 각도의 측풍에서도 세일링 효과 (sailing effect)로 보다 낮은 드래그(drag)을 보며 보다 효율적으로 공기흐름을 관리할 수 있다. 장거리 라이딩에서 모든 바람 환경에서도 최상의 측풍 안전성을 실현하여 예측 가능한 핸들링과 자신감을 제공한다. 기존의 HUNT 44 Aerodynamicist model보다 1.73 watts 감소하는 성능을 보여주었다. 22mm 내부림폭으로ㅓ 28mm 타이어 장착시 가장 이상적인 공기역학성능과 승차감 그리고 안정적인 코너링을 선사하며 전 모델보다 높아진 림 적용에도 불구하고 진보된 카본 적층 기술을 적용하여 1,346 그램이라는 인상적인 무게를 실현하였다.

• No Compromise, Front & Rear Specific Rim Profiles - Hunt Limitless Speed Project를 통해 학습된 경험과 전통적인 제조 방법들을 활용하여 Aerodynamicist 시리즈의 넓은 카본 림 형상들은 최적의 공기역학적 이점들을 제공한다. 넓고 훨씬 더 무뎌진 spoke bed 부분으로 보다 예측가능한 패턴의 공기흐름을 보여 림을 통과하여 분리된 공기가 부드럽고 공기역학에서 효율적인 모습을 보여준다. 
• Reliable, Rapid H_Ratchet Hub System - H_Ratchet 40T DBL (dual-sided ratchet system)은 빠르고 신뢰성높은 9도의 체격각도로 페달링에 보다 빠른 반응을 보여준다. 6066 aluminium alloy hub shell에 보다 강한 7075-T6 alloy axle 그리고 H_Ceramik 코팅으로 표면을 보호해주는 내구성높은 freehub body가 결합되는 구성이다.
• Low Friction, High Durability Bearings - 고성능 chromium steel Enduro™ ABEC 5 Bearing을 자전거 휠에 적용하여 적용하여 훌륭한 수명(longevity)과 낮은 구름저항을 날씨에 상관없이 실현해준다.
• Aerodynamic Wing Spokes - 강성과 공기역학 효율성을 위해 개발된 aerofoil profile을 가진 triple butted Pillar Wing spoke가 적용되어 드래그(drag)를 감소시켜준다. 강한 스트레스를 받는 스포크 헤드 주변을 강화하여 내구성을 보강하였으며 T302 (18/10) (by Sandvik Sweden) 고급 스테인레스 스틸을 냉간에서 압출하여 제작되어 탁월한 강성과 파워 전단력을 가지고 세련된 블랙 마감으로 표면 내구성을 가진다.
• All-Road Ready Resistance (UCI Approved) - 모든 Hunt road wheel은 모든 UCI 충격 테스트 기준들을 통과된 휠이지만 추가적으로 훨씬 높은 충격 테스트를 진행한다. 평지를 기준으로 한 UCI 충격 테스트 환경이 아닌 포트홀 타격(potholes strikes)을 보다 잘 구현한 테스트 환경에서 진행되는 추가 테스트를 통과하게 된다.

SPEC OVERVIEW

• Rims | 31mm 림폭과 44.5mm 림높이를 가진 전륜으로 궁극의 에어로 성능을 발휘하며 30mm 림폭과 46mm 림높이를 가진 후륜으로 무게를 감소시켰다. T800 단일방향 카본섬유로 초경량의 림 적층방법이 적용되고 스포크홀 주변강화를 위해 3K 카본으로 보강된 카본림이다. HUNT 자체 엔지니어 팀이 Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)와 wind tunnel testing을 거쳐 개발한 카본림이다. 넓은 22mm 내부 림폭으로 훌륭한 타이어 지지력과 볼륨으로 탁월한 그립감과 낮은 구름저항을 실현한다. Hooked 22mm 내부 림 형상으로 25mm에서 50mm까지 클린처와 튜브리스 타이어 장착이 가능하며 H-Lock bead로 확실한 타이어 결착을 보장한다. 단방향 카본 림 마감 (UD rim finish)에 화이트 데칼이 적용된 림이다. 
• Front Hubs I 단조후 CNC가공된 6066-T6 열처리 알루미늄 합금 바디와 7075-T6 aluminium alloy axle 적용. 레이저 그래픽과 블랙 아노다이즈드 폴리싱 처리 마감 적용. Center-lock disc mount.
• Rear Hubs I 9도의 낮은 체결각도를 가지고 유지보수가 쉬운 H_Ratchet 40T dual sided ratchet rings. H_Ceramik freehub body reinforcement coating. 향상된 강직성을 위해 단조후 CNC가공된 6066-T6 열처리 알루미늄 합금 바디와 7075-T6 aluminium alloy axle 적용. 레이저 그래픽과 블랙 아노다이즈드 폴리싱 처리 마감 적용. Center-lock disc mount. 
• Spokes I 전륜 20개 | 후륜 24개 (양쪽 2 cross 체결). 드래그 감소와 트리플 버티드로( 2.2/0.95-2.0mm) 강성이 강화된 aerofoil profile를 가진 straight-pull Pillar Wing 20 스포크 적용으로 탁워한 뒤클림 강성과 직접적인 파워 전달력 제공. 헤드 부분 보강된 특허등록된 Pillar Spoke Reinforcement.
• Nipples I 외부 조절이 손쉬운 사각 바디. 워서가 있는 16mm 길이로 스포크 홀에 높은 부하를 주지 않으면서 카본림과 강한 체결성 제공.  
• Precision Bearings I 매우 부드럽고 정밀한 Enduro™ ABEC 5 stainless steel cartridge bearing 적용. Enduro 베어링은 가능한 가장 깊은 그루브와 가장 큰 베어링 볼 적용되어 베어링 강성과 내구성 증대. LLU 이중 full-contact seal 적용으로 먼지나 물의 유입을 줄여주고 보다 긴 수명 제공.

THE PURPPOSE

The Aerodynamicist Range has been re-engineered for pure speed, featuring updated front and rear aerodynamic rim profiles developed in-house through extensive CFD testing and wind tunnel validation. Designed for riders chasing every watt, the wider front wheel profile maximises aero efficiency, paired with a narrower but deeper rear wheel profile, optimising system aero efficiency and stability in real-world conditions while minimizing weight. Aero wing spokes slice through the wind, while ensuring reliability and easy maintenance. The precision-engineered H_Ratchet 40T DBL hub delivers crisp 9-degree engagement with less material weight. Enduro ™ Bearings ABEC 5 chromium steel bearings keep you rolling faster for longer. Every detail is dialled for uncompromising performance where it matters most.

THE TECHNOLOGY

The HUNT 44_46 Aerodynamicist Carbon Disc wheels beat the competition in wind tunnel tests, cutting air resistance by 1.41 watts compared to the ENVE Foundation 45, which weighs 167g more (12.4% heavier). The new front wheel profile has less drag at high yaw by creating a sailing effect and managing airflow more efficiently. For long rides, these wheels offer best-in-class stability in all wind conditions, giving you predictable handling and greater confidence. They also cut drag by 1.73 watts compared to the previous 44 Aerodynamicist model. A wider 22mm internal rim creates an ideal shape with 28mm tyres, improving both aerodynamics and comfort while making cornering more stable. Despite being deeper than the previous model, these wheels weigh an impressive 1346 grams , thanks to advanced carbon fiber layup techniques.

The wide and far more 'blunted' spoke bed area, allows wind to flow in a more predictable pattern once separating from the rim providing a smooth and aerodynamically efficient package. 
• Reliable, Rapid H_Ratchet Hub System - H_Ratchet 40T DBL, is a dual-sided ratchet system with 40-tooth drive rings offers rapid and reliable 9-degree engagement for quick response to pedal inputs. 6066 aluminium alloy hub shell with extra strong 7075-T6 alloy axle and freehub body for durability. H_Ceramik reinforced coating to protect against gouging.
• Low Friction, High Durability Bearings - High performance chromium steel Enduro™ ABEC 5 Bearings are specifically designed for cycling applications to provide excellent longevity and low rolling resistance, no matter the weather.
• Aerodynamic Wing Spokes - Built for strength and aero efficiency, the Pillar Wing spokes feature an aerofoil profile to reduce drag, with reinforced butting near the spoke head for added durability in high-stress areas. Cold-drawn from premium stainless steel, these spokes offer excellent strength and direct power transfer, while the sleek black stainless finish adds a durable touch.
• All-Road Ready Resistance (UCI Approved) - Hunt road wheels all pass UCI impact testing standards. HUNT Wheels' road wheels must also undergo significantly elevated impact testing using a sharpened anvil and higher impact energies to better replicate pothole strikes compared to the flat UCI impact test pad.

SPEC OVERVIEW

• Rims | 44.5mm deep front profile with a 31mm external width for ultimate aero performance. 46mm deep rear profile with a 30mm external width to reduce weight in turbulent air. Lightweight rim layup strategy using T800 unidirectional carbon fibre with 3K weave re-enforced spoke holes for ultimate wheelset performance. Designed by HUNT’s in-house Engineering Team using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and then validated using wind tunnel testing. The broad 22mm internal width provides good tyre support and volume for excellent grip and low rolling resistance. Hooked 22mm internal profile allows a wide range of tyres from 25mm-50mm to be fitted including tubeless or clincher tyres in-line with ETRTO guidelines. H-Lock bead seat up-kick for secure tyre fitment. UD rim finish with matte white decals.

• Rear Hubs I H_Ratchet 40t, dual sided ratchet rings, offer 9˚ of engagement. Floating ratchet rings are contained as a cassette, for easy servicing and maintenance. H_Ceramik freehub body reinforcement coating provides excellent durability and protects against cassette sprocket damage. Forged and CNC’d 6066-T6 heat treated aluminium alloy body. 7075-T6 aluminium alloy axle for increased stiffness. Polished anodised black finish with laser graphics. Center-lock disc mount. 
• Spokes I 20 Front | 24 Rear (2 cross both sides). Pillar Wing 20 with aerofoil profile to reduce aero drag | triple butted 2.2/0.95-2.0mm to increase strength. Straight-pull excellent torsional strength and direct power transfer. Cold drawn from high grade T302 (18/10) stainless steel by Sandvik Sweden. Patented Pillar Spoke Reinforcement, additional butting near the head of the spoke to increase strength in this high-stress area. 
• Nipples I Square body for external adjustment and square head for easy adjustment and tensioning. 16mm length with washer for a strong connection to the rim without causing high load at the spoke hole. 
• Precision Bearings I Super smooth precision Enduro™ ABEC 5 stainless steel cartridge bearings. Enduro™ ABEC 5 bearings are designed specifically for bicycle applications as they offer the deepest grooves and largest balls possible in every size to increase bearing strength and durability. LLU dual full-contact seals to reduce bearing ingress from dirt and liquids for longer service life. 
• Tire Width Optimization I Tyre size: Aerodynamically optimised for 28-30mm tyres. Wide, modern profile is ETRTO compliant with 25mm up to 50mm tyres.
